Our Client is seeking a skilled and experienced IT Engineer to lead critical infrastructure initiatives across networking, system administration, and enterprise IT projects. This role requires strong technical leadership, a proactive mindset, and the ability to mentor junior team members. The position is 100% onsite in Orange County, CA.

The ideal person will have:

Designed, configured, and maintained network systems, including VLAN, LAN, WAN, and remote access technologies.

Installed and managed servers, workstations, and applications, ensuring performance and security.

Delivered Tier 3 support for escalated technical issues across hardware and software systems.

Led cross-functional IT projects, including software upgrades, system migrations, and technology rollouts.

Maintained comprehensive documentation of systems, processes, and procedures to support operational consistency and compliance.

Managed vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective and high-quality procurement of IT hardware, software, and services.

Monitored system performance and applied optimizations to enhance reliability and efficiency.

Led product/technology evaluations and implemented proof of concepts (POCs).

Provided mentorship and training to junior IT staff members.

Participated in on-call rotation, providing after-hours and weekend support when necessary.

Adapted to evolving processes, tools, and organizational needs.

Performed other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

3–5 years of experience in IT engineering, network administration, or a comparable technical role.

Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems.

Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and hardware (routers, switches, firewalls).

Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.

Solid working knowledge of cloud environments, particularly AWS, Microsoft Azure, and M365.

Salary dependent on experience: $110K to $170K.
